Rapper Sandra Denton, who is known by her stage name ‘Pepa’, is famous for her performance in the all-female rap trio Salt-N-Pepa, whose hit song “Push It” was ranked #37 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Dance Songs. She met Cheryl ‘Salt’ James while studying nursing at Queensborough Community College in 1985. They formed ‘Salt-N-Pepa in 1986. Sandra was born to Jamaican parents, in Kingston, Jamaica, and was raised in Queens, New York. She is the youngest of eight children of her parents. She was married to the rapper Treach from 1999 to 2001.

Sandra Denton has sued a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon she claims pushed her to get three operations on her backside to fix the fallout from a car crash. The 54-year-old, who is Pepa in Salt-N-Pepa, says that the accident in 2018 caused her physical discomfort by moving around her buttock implants.
